Today we announced that Luke Jeffrey has been promoted to the position of CEO of Crimson Tide PLC. Luke joined the Company in July 2005 after completing a Master of Science degree from University of East Anglia and has held increasingly senior technical roles, culminating in his appointment as Deputy CEO last year. Directly after the announcement we caught up with Luke, asking him 5 questions about his new role and his visions for the company in the future…
Wow – what a question!
We’re a completely different company now and I’m proud to have been part of it.
When I first joined we weren’t AIM listed so that has been one of the largest changes for sure – it’s a very different world being a PLC to a private company.
Back then, we were only based in Tunbridge Wells but now we’ve people using mpro5 all around the globe ranging from Dublin and Dubai to Indonesia and Tanzania.
We are much more regulated which is a great change, we have policies and processes in place to cover everything from how we deal with support issues to how our sales team function which has led to us being ISO27001 certified.
This is allowing us to scale quicker and also compete in the enterprise software market much more easily than when I first joined.
To me personally it means a great deal.
The trust of the Board to deliver the budget we’ve set out is a huge vote of confidence.
As is fairly obvious from my career path, I’m a ‘techie’ deep down, and learning the idiosyncrasies of the stock market as well as everything that goes along with managing our team has really pushed me.
The latest announcement is definitely recognition that I’ve put in the work to get to where I need to be (always plenty more to learn however!)
The software world, particularly mobile software, is an industry that evolves at breakneck speed.
It’s incredibly important that we never lose sight of that, and that our team are always ready to push mpro5 forward.
Over the coming months and years I expect to see a large push into IoT, AI, and Machine Learning – all of which will add great value to our powerful platform.
We already have connected sensors to the mpro5 environment and I expect this to increase at huge pace.

I am proud of each and every member of staff we have and we’re all passionate about what we do.
I enjoy coming into the office each day, pushing our platform forward, working closely with our clients (some household names) to deliver a great service that really sets us apart from the competition.
Because we’re a service on monthly subscription, the enthusiasm and passion of our staff is of paramount importance throughout our contracts.
Due to us being a PLC, there’s quite a bit I can’t talk about I’m afraid here.
What I can say is we believe in our principles, we believe in our team, and we believe in our product – so expect more on all of these fronts.
We’ve been through some huge growth over the past few years and I’m incredibly optimistic for the future.
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to listen – be that to our team, our partners, or our customers. You always achieve more working together and I’ve found that sometimes just listening before speaking is the most effective approach to take. Your own opinion isn’t going anywhere, but I always find it may just change after listening to everyone else first!
The pinnacle moment has probably been when we helped one of our clients actually save lives in the third world using our software to detect counterfeit pharmaceuticals.
Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the financial benefits a platform like mpro5 can bring, but actually taking a moment to realise that we’ve been instrumental in saving a life!? Well, it still floors me today!
